About our business

podCOINai℠ asks a simple question: why rent AI when you can own it? Born as the for-profit spinoff of DrRon Suarez’s nonprofit Community Internet (the Broadband Institute Foundation) and calling Wisdom Studio home, podCOINai builds responsible, privacy-first AI that runs on hardware inside your own building or neighborhood instead of someone else’s data center. Its CivicBoxAI℠ appliance lets libraries, schools and associations answer questions without a single query leaving the premises; ApI Switchboard℠ keeps routine AI work on local machines and sends only the hard jobs to the paid cloud, so bills stop surprising you; and Commons Compute℠ imagines “the data center the whole town owns”: small, cooperatively governed, solar- and wind-powered hubs shared by a community. In the spirit of the 1930s electric co-ops, the idea is that every dollar saved, every watt generated and every byte stored locally stays local. Come meet the people building it, and ask how your block, business or nonprofit could #OwnYourData.
